How To Care Turtles

When it comes to turtles as pets may seem that they are all very similar, but there are actually several different types. Each species has its own characteristics, habits and needs. Some of the most characteristic differences between the types are the colors and markings of their shells. terrestrial turtles have different types of shells of sea turtles and aquatic turtles and tortoises base. The base of the skull, as a rule, lighter shells, less decals and softer than the land-type shell. The most common pet turtle, probably a turtle or tortoise and smaller type is called a semi-aquatic freshwater turtles, of which the regulators are the most mknown. These semi-aquatic turtles, who love to swim, but also enjoy basking in the sun (or UV lamp) to be dry beach for this. Aquarium should be large enough to accommodate two of the time, the water is too shallow, and with the dry pebbles or rocks, consisting of flat, gently sloping to the water. The temperature should be sufficiently constant and well regulated, with ideal water a bit cooler than the air temperature must be warm. There must be a constant source of fresh water for the aquatic turtles, perhaps in a shallow dish placed in the dry zone of the aquarium. Another basic need, of course, proper nutrition. Most turtles prefer the variety of fresh vegetables, especially dark leaves, but they will eat more green vegetables. Iceberg lettuce is not recommended, as some that cause diarrhea. Some of these animals have worms, and snails, so you should check on the recommended diet secific depending on the particular race turtle you have. They also need vitamins and minerals, and they can be added as a supplement to the food once or twice a week. As with any pet, you will learn their normal appearance and behavior, and can usually detect if something unusual If you suspect health problems early consultation with vetanarian recommended.
